Thelma & Louise’s Eastlink Road Trip

Well you just can’t keep these two party girls down! One day after finishing their marathon efforts in the Elindil’s Secret Film, they were off to try out the exciting new Eastlink Tunnel experience – fortunately no cliffs there! Thelma & Louise initially set a cracking pace on the Mullum Mullum trail, leaving their partners to tag along behind (altho Andy said they quite enjoyed the view from there!)
Despite setting a fast pace, Thelma & Louise managed to complete the entire trip without getting any speeding tickets or paying any tolls. Disappointed they didn’t find Brad tho.
Fat Lady’s Swan Song
Well, it’s now officially “a wrap” – after a few more “final pickups”! Friday night saw the filming of a new version of a previously recorded scene which, for various reasons, had to be redone. Cassie and Andrew had a marathon effort, along with the crew, lasting til the wee small hours. I piked out at midnight cos I was scared I’d turn into a “pumpkin”! We all had to front up again the following morning for an early makeup call before heading up to Warburton for a fight scene.
Dave’s evident enthusiasm for getting down and dirty is a bit of a worry – i.e. his penchant for punchups and stabbings.
As Luke said “we are probably going to go for an M rating with this movie so we may as well make it worthwhile!” There was certainly plenty of action in this short scene and lots of blood, as usual! Pete has now been initiated into the ES “tradition” of being punched, stabbed, bloodied and made up to look like
some sleep-deprived mugger. He didn’t think the blood tasted so bad – mind you, it wasn’t one of the blood capsules (just ask Dave K!) In keeping with our extraordinary good run with the weather, the rain held off til we were packing up to leave.
Saturday afternoon was spent back at Luke’s house, causing some concern amongst the neighbours with the blood curdling screams from inside and the maniac driving of the jeep on the front lawn.
There were certainly a few rubber neck moments as we tried to get some shots done on the front naturestrip. Cassie and Andrew endured the longest, most drawn out breakfast they’ve ever had – the eggs and bacon were quite cold and congealed by the end. As for the coffee, we had to “nuke” it several times to keep it steaming…….ew!
There were some interesting wardrobe issues for the bedroom scene – several suggestions were put forward as to the most appropriate attire for Cassie. It’s amazing how differently men and women think about these things! Luke gave up in the end and left it to the girls to have a “Barbie doll” session and get the dressups right!! There were more moments of hilarity with Andrew’s “manly moment” – coming to the rescue with a frying pan in hand – dressed in Tshirt and teal boxers…nice legs Andrew!! We actually finished ahead of schedule, which prompted a few sceptical comments about whether we were REALLY finished? We are a cautious lot – no-one is game to throw anything out yet in case we get a call back for further pickups….or is it the lure of fame and fortune on e-bay that’s really behind it? In any case, it’s been a great experience and I don’t regret for a moment accepting the challenge from Luke over 12 months ago to be part of his “little film project”! Well done to everyone involved in this extraordinary venture. Looking forward to the red carpet……
